| Spanish Boating Courses 2012 |
Academia Nautica del Sur Evening Courses 2012 Courses are held in our Classroom in Puerto Colon. The Teaching Language is English with coaching in the relevant Spanish Words & Phrases used in Examinations. Examinations for P.N.B. & P.E.R. will take place in Santa Cruz on 12th May 2012. Registration for the Examination will be a month before for Students undertaking courses.
Our Classroom, is located at Local 131b in Puerto Colon, directly below the Book Swop. Places are limited but in the event that there is sufficient demand, we will add evening or daytime courses. A list of required text books and a list of publications and navigational instruments that we recommend, will be supplied to Candidates upon Booking.

P.E.R. Patron Embarcacion Recreo (Approx. Coastal Skipper) Allows holders to cruise: within 12 miles of the coast or inter-island in the Canaries & Ballearics On a vessel less than 12m L.O.A. Note: When used on Spanish registered vessels, holders of the ICC are restricted to 3 miles of the coast
2012 PER Course 60 hours Theory & Radio Practical: Dates for the Practical elements will be confirmed during the Course
Course Syllabus includes: Naval Technology, Boat Handling, Safety, Navegation, Meteorology, VHF Communications, Mechanical Propulsion, Rules for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea, Buoyage. There is also a requirement to undertake 2 hours of VHF Radio Practical Tuition & 16 hours of Practical Boat Handling etc.

Patron para Navigacion Basica (P.N.B) Theory 14 Hours & Radio 2 Hours. Practical element – 12 Hours. This is a Basic Course which we will run as required. We recommend taking the P.E.R. which qualifies the holder to operate recreational vessels up to 12m L.O.A. and within 12 miles of the Coast or Inter-Island.
